Two Sides to a Line
North Beckton Collaborative Work, Year 5
Before we made our sculpture, our art teachers introduced us to the artwork of Keith Haring, a graffiti artist from New York. As a group we discussed Keith Haring's work and then drew and painted our own Haring-inspired art works. We then laid down onto some wooden board and took turns to draw round each other. When we looked at Keith Haring's work, we realised that you can't tell whether they are male or female and ethnicity isn't an issue. Our experiences whilst making our sculpture were meeting other pupils, learning about Keith Haring, mixing colours, painting and making our sculpture and most importantly not to discriminate!
