This piece is a painting based of a photograph of my little sister when she was six. I thought the blues of the shadows in her face would be interesting to paint, as well as being inspired by the emphatic expression of excitement it held. I like the idea of this childish joy being frozen in time as it is, as life moves on and we continue grow up.
