Roses
Anya, Year 6
This artwork was inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintoshes roses. I used plaster of paris, acrylic paint, oil pastels, a glue gun and photographs which I combined as a collage. This piece started off as a model making exercise and turned into a 3-D piece. First I made the roses as I was interested in Plaster of Paris. Then I coloured them with different mediums including glitter and acrylic paint. Then I decided to photograph some of them. I blew up some of the photos and cut these up to make a collage. I then decided to stick the original plaster roses onto the photograph to give a 3D effect. I started off with one rose and ended up with ten I had no idea that it would end up this way.
